As you may be aware the Government is planning to extend free early years education for eligible children from 15 hours per week to 30 hours per week. The 30 hours is made up of the universal 15 hours of Free Early Education Entitlement (FEEE) (which will not change) plus up to an additional 15hrs for children whose parent(s) meet the criteria i.e. working over 16hrs and earning under £100,000p.a.
Pilot schemes are due to start in various counties across the country beginning in September 2016 but Bristol will not be implementing the free 30 hour places until September 2017. It is not yet known which settings will be offering the additional free hours but as soon as we have more information we will let you know.
