Sun Safety for Children

We’re in for a bit of a warm week here at St. Werburgh’s with temperatures set to reach 29°. Here are some tips to keep your children safe in the sun!

  • Please cover exposed parts of your child’s skin with sunscreen before you come to Nursery. Don’t forget to apply it to their shoulders, nose, ears, cheeks, and the tops of their feet.
  • Be especially careful to protect your child’s shoulders and the back of their neck when they’re playing, as these are the most common areas for sunburn.
  • Cover your child up in loose cotton clothes, such as an oversized T-shirt with sleeves.
  • Please bring a hat for your child to wear to Nursery. Floppy hats with a wide brim that shades their face and neck are good for coverage.
