I wanted to thank you for all your support in raising money to help us to build a chicken house. We have also been raising money through our friends and family to replace our much-loved water trays! Lucy and I have raised £1000 through this fundraiser. This is in addition to your support for the “30 miles in 30 days” fundraiser. So far, we have raised £600. We are overwhelmed by the generosity and support the Nursery has received!
I also wanted to let you know that Lucy and I have completed our part. On Saturday 10th April we ran 30 miles, following the route of the Green Boy Ultra. This is a challenge that we thought we would ever complete. Lockdown provided us with an amazing opportunity to build up our running. We finally felt confident enough to take this on. The Green Boy route follows the Community Path that snakes around the outside of Bristol. It is truly beautiful…..and truly hilly!!!
We hoped to complete the round in 7 hours. Our moving time was in fact 6 hours and 22 minutes. We were blessed to have so much support along the course that we added on a further 1.5 hours just to stop and say hi to everyone! Despite the hills and the burning leg muscles, we had a fantastic time and are very proud to not only have achieved a personal ambition but also to have raised a significant amount to buy the resources we need for the children of St Werburgh’s Park Nursery School. We managed to use our passion for running to support our passion for our school!
The staff team are continuing to walk a mile a day every day through April. If you can support in any way, please do. What could be more motivating than supporting our children! We are also hoping that you will be able to join us on our last few walks in the coming weeks.
Thank you so much.
